I trained as an artist in the UK, studying painting in Scotland and London at the RCA. I was invited to get involved in animation first as a life drawing instructor to classes that I ran for a number of London animation studios and then as an artist working on productions.

After working for several major studios on film productions as well as occasional advertising work I was invited to come out to California ultimately to join Dreamworks as it set up for it's first animated production "Prince of Egypt."

Several years, and several film productions later, I became a freelance artist, working on several projects over the past decade or more, dividing my time between production work and teaching.

I am still active as an artist painting my own work and exhibiting, as well as developing other personal projects that are more story based.
